Two more letters of support for Eric

Angvall will represent county’s interests

From John Hassinger

I will be voting for Eric Angvall, a common-sense leader, for the following reasons:

• His 14 successful years as mayor of Lester Prairie has prepared him for working with others and knowing how to balance budgets.

• As a small business owner, he understands the stresses and strains of Main Street and how government affects small businesses.

• He will be a middle-of-the road leader and will represent the voters of McLeod County making decisions based on the needs of our area.

• Eric is a solid citizen of the community, as illustrated by receiving the WCCO Good Neighbor award, recognized by Gov. Perpich for his recycling efforts, church leadership and being actively involved in hosting four foreign exchange students in their home.

• He is an honest, hardworking leader who is an independent thinker.

We need Eric Angvall — he’s the right person to represent McLeod County.

Angvall – from the other side of the pond

From: Kathrin Hille, Weisenborn, Germany

I am one of three exchange students the Eric Angvall family hosted for an YFU exchange high school year.

The Angvalls opened their house and hearts to let me feel like a real family member. I got to be a part of Lester Prairie, able to experience the American way of life that I don’t want to miss ever.

I don’t know too much about American regional political affairs, but I know Eric as a powerful, and at the same time, thoughtful man, who would try to do his very best supporting the local. Throughout the year I lived with the Angvall family, I got to see Eric putting many efforts into the community by keeping alive Lester Prairie’s hardware store, involving the Lutheran church community, working as a substitute teacher in Lester Prairie High School, and by trying to enrich his environment as “Buerger-King”* much as possible, generally being very interested in nature and people, especially the youth living around him and all over the world.

I also got to know him as an open-minded person, especially to all sorts of people, trying to understand their needs and thoughts, also helping by what to do next, never quitting goals in life.

If you want to support, you don’t do bad supporting Eric!

*While Kathrin Hille was an exchange student living with the Angvall family, Eric was mayor of Lester Prairie. In Germany, the mayor is called a “BurgherMeister.” Kathrin affectionately nicknamed Angvall “Buerger-King.”
